Happy Halloween!

Here are some of the latest Halloween illustrations and projects I did for The House that Lars Built. I linked the rest in the post below (did you see them all?) Maybe it's my love of the ethereal and unexplained, but I truly love this holiday. I did some candy cards, which you can download as a little poster or printable, and some candy bags, which you can also print out and use for candy gifting or trick or treating (tonight!)

My favorite Halloween was probably when my parents took me to a thrift store and I picked out a vintage dress and then my dad fashioned some wire hoops in the bottom part so it looked like a colonial hoop-skirt dress (we were living in Virginia and I was obsessed with that time period!!) Then we had a parade at school, and in the field, one of the teachers had dressed up as Death, and had a cart and was wheeling it around, until he stopped and began digging, pretending he was digging a grave. It was so spooky because we didn't know who it was and it was far enough away that it was just super creepy.

Those were good times.

DON'T GET TOO SCARED TONIGHT! AND EAT LOTS OF CANDY!!

New interview about my style and process here on The House that Lars Built. I love it when Brittany asks me to collaborate with her, and this month (being my favorite holiday month) she let me do a bunch of projects for her. Here's a breakdown in case you've missed them:

Rebecca

I first heard of Rebecca when I was in 6th grade and it became one of my favorite thrillers, so I was excited when Brittany of The House that Lars Built asked me to illustrate it for this month's book club. Check out her page with a FREE printable of this illustration and bookmark.
If it's a favorite of yours too, you'll want this pinned up in your house!

Remember a few years ago when I painted these for The House that Lars Built? Well I've done an updated version of them for this year-- on pastel painted pumpkins. See here for more photos and the full tutorial on how you can paint your own!

I love Halloween.. ps....
