Feature in Drawn at the Tower- London

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Before leaving London in December, I had the chance to go sketching at The Tower of London as part of the Historic Royal Palaces Art Nights, called Art Macabre. My friend helps run the program, and I was invited along for the preview night. We sketched famous figures Queen Anne and King Edward. It was so unique to go there after-hours, where most tourists aren't allowed. We sat ourselves in a main bed chamber of the queen, and a model- dressed the part- came out and we drew as she posed in various poses, while the instructor told us about her life. Then we switched to The Throne Room, and were able to sketch the king sitting regally in his throne once again dressed the part. It was fantastic, and this video was taken (unbeknownst to me) while we drew. You'll probably see me in a few of the shots. I'm just happy I got to take part in it.
