Hand-Painted Jumpsuits +

I launched these a few weeks ago, and the response has been really nice you guys! I am glad you like these! I stopped working with my manufacturer in Shanghai, and was sad about the lack of printed jumpsuits I would soon have, so I sourced these ones and hand-paint them all. I have a Lapiz blue and a multi-colored option for you to choose from. They are so cute and comfortable, especially as the summer starts winding down.

I also made these face terrazzo earrings. They are definitely a statement earring and I really love how they add such a fun bit of color and personality to any outfit.

New Ceramics!

I've launched a few new ceramics in my shop! I originally started with ceramics- these ones are based on my love for the old blue willow Chinaware that I grew up with in Beijing. I offer custom portrait plates, just send me a photo of what you want painted! These make great personalized gifts. Then there is the Dot Pot and Dot Butter-dish. They are both adorable little updates to my classic faces for your kitchen. Use the Dot Pot for a variety of things- sugar, cottonballs, gummy bears, 

whatever you think of you can probably store in it.

Refinery 29

A little illustration about 6 Hair Thickening Products to use this summer by Samantha Sasso for Refinery 29. I'm pretty low-maintenance with my hair, but I do like some good volume! My favorite brand by far is Bumble and Bumble. I'm using this one right now, and just let my hair air dry. I also use Amika brand matte volumizer for some texture and movement once it's dry.

Frankie Magazine #85

I've begun selling exclusive prints with Patricia Barrett Studio. Patricia was the printer for Rodney Smith for over 16 years, and she now owns her own company. There are only 100 of these limited edition prints, and they are printed with archival ink and silver gelatin (they last for over 200 years). They are exclusive only to Patricia Barrett Studio, which means you cannot find them anywhere else on the internet or in the world. Once 100 are printed and sold, they will never be printed again.

Halloween

As always, Halloween season has me very excited . It's a strange holiday, where we dress up in scary outfits and go around collecting candy. But having lived in places, like England, China, and South Africa, where they don't celebrate Halloween as much, it makes me appreciate places that really do it well. In Philadelphia, everyone in my neighborhood had these amazing flower boxes on their brownstones that they would fill to the brim with Halloween inspired foliage and paraphernalia. When I lived in Beijing, my housing complex there had trick or treating, and you could buy costumes at the markets (because duh most of the ones in the USA are made in China!). In South Africa, my mom took us to pick out costumes at this old theater, and then we trick or treated at the embassy. In London, we spent Halloween at a pub with some friends.

However you spend Halloween this year, I hope you enjoy it with lots of candy and costumes and scary stories. I drew this for a Halloween poster, and I hope you can tell how much fun I had with it.

I've been pretty appalled by what's happening along our Mexico/American borders with families being separated under a ridiculous law that is both unethical and extreme (which seems to be the norm these days unfortunately)

I haven't known about what I should do to help the situation, so I've drawn this image and ordered these pins to be made to sell to raise money for Raices Texas. If you want one, click here, all profits will be donated to help families be reunited.

I can't imagine being separated from my baby. This is a horrid thing and I really hope all of the families can find each other again.

Tedx Talk + MLB

It's finally out!

I was lucky to be able to do illustrations for Beauty Redefined's Tedx Talk this past month. I LOVE Lindsay + Lexie's platform, and their work is absolutely powerful. When I was a teen I always felt like I needed to be a certain way physically, and it continued throughout college where I had a bit of an eating problem. I know that body image is mental and it's hard to step outside of it and see yourself for who you are and what you are capable of. Their work will teach and change your mentality and you can love who you are. Women, we are not just bodies!
Their motto? See more, Be more.

New H17 Designs for Anthropologie

 I loved designing this woolly creature story for Anthropologie Holiday 17! They turned out really fun. You can get a combination of all or just one to add to your Christmas list. 

The tassel trees are fun decorative table accents, the unicorn and elephant are fluffy and quirky, but my favorite is probably the elephant tree topper. I made an actual sample of this guy for the vendors to copy and they did a beautiful job replicating it.

I'll be posting more ornaments I did for Anthro in a few days, but for now, enjoy these!
