Here's a new one for Friends Who Draw- this month's theme is Philosophers. Simone Weil was a French philosopher, Christian mystic, and social activist. She would go to extremes to feel what others less fortunate than herself would feel- total complete empathy for others- like when soldiers in WWI went without food, she did too, to the point of starvation. She did this often, until she caught turburculosis... and died.
Still, you've got to admire her hutzpa.
